Oilfield Elastomer Service Selection Guide

Complete the following checklist to determine a suitable sealing material for your oil & gas application. Please select either 'yes' or 'no' to every question asked. Any question left blank will be evaluated as a 'yes' answer.

Let us evaluate whether NBR is suitable.

Is the temperature greater than 93C/200F (where oxygen is present) or less than -29C/-20F?	yes	no
Is hydrogen sulfide present in quantity greater than 10 ppm?	yes	no
Are amines present at a temperature greater than 93C/200F?	yes	no
Are metal halides (e.g. ZnBr, NaBr) present/introduced?	yes	no
Is there high concentration of aromatic hydrocarbons?	yes	no
Are organic or inorganic acids present/introduced?	yes	no
Are there halogenated hydrocarbons present/introduced?	yes	no
Are phosphate esters present/introduced?	yes	no

Both the ASTM D1418 designation and Seals Eastern compound number will be listed after the appropriate questions have been answered indicating a suitable match.
